A little more than a century and a half ago Sir Edward Creasy wrote The Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World: From Marathon to Waterloo. It is considered something of a classic work of turning points in military history. About a century later Colonel Joseph Mitchell updated the work to reflect battles in the 20th Century. The resulting title, Twenty Decisive Battles of the World has become a classic of military science. Wargamers, readers of military history, and enthusiasts of alternative history can easily relate to a top 20 list of battles that, if they'd gone differently, might have resulted in a significantly different world that what we know today.
Taking inspiration from Creasy and Mitchell's work, Turning Point Simulations has announced it will be publishing a series of boardgames based upon Mitchell's Twenty Decisive Battles of the World. The first four games to be releases will be The Battle of Tours, Joan of Arc's Victory, Poltava's Dread Day, and The Battle of Stalingrad.
Turning Point Simulations has an official webpage where readers can sign up for a newsletter. That website can be found here. In addition Turning Point Simulations has created a page on Consimworld where more informaiton is available on the games. It can be found here.
No information is available on precisely when these games may be released but keep checking back with The Wargamer as we'll be sure to be watching these titles closely.
