IDDK announces the tank sim title WWII Battle Tanks: T-34 vs. Tiger.

IDDK and G5 Software have sent word out today that they are jointly working on a new WWII tank simulation called WWII Battle Tanks: T-34 vs. Tiger. The game is focused mainly around the so-called Soviet blitzkrieg tactics used by Red tanks and infantry during the during the summer campaign of 1944, codenamed Operation Bagration. This offensive served as one of the most significant Russian campaigns during the struggle of Soviet and German tanks in Belorussia. With WWII Battle Tanks, players will be able to try their own hand at busting German defenses or battling back the Soviet armored onslaught. As one might gather from the title, the two campaigns allow for full command over Russian T-34 or the German Tiger tank, two of the most powerful and influential steel beasts to wage the Second World War.

Some features include:

  • Storyline based on the Soviet Army “Bagration” operation in Belorussia in 1944;
  • Large scale of available missions;
  • Realistic handling and physics;
  • Realistic locations depicting Belorussian landscape of the early 20th century;
  • Detailed animation of weapons, vehicles and infantry
  • Realistic combat environments of that time period, including infantry, cars, armored cars, motorcycles, artillery, aircraft, armored troop-carriers;
  • Playable, detailed 3D crew stations for commander, driver and gunner;
  • Non-Linear Mission Structure;
  • Various external Views;
  • Realistic effects: explosions, smoke, destroyable units;
  • Both Internet and LAN Multiplayer Options;
WWII Battle Tanks: T-34 vs. Tiger is scheduled for release in Q1 of 2007 in Russia and has no release date set for North America. Get more information from the SimHQ forums.
