Empire: Total War Street Date Announced and New Gameplay Videos

The Creative Assembly announced that its hotly anticipated strategy title, Empire: Total War will officially be released on March 4, 2009.
From the Creative Assembly press release:
"San Francisco (January 27, 2008) – SEGA of America®, Inc. today announced that the next iteration of the critically acclaimed Total War™ series, Empire: Total War, will be shipped to stores in North America and Canada March 3rd and available to buy in stores around the world on March 4th. In addition, North American and Canadian customers will be able to purchase the game as a digital download at 1:00 AM PST on the 4th of March.
Please note that all retail and digital download copies require activation via STEAM, the leading online platform for PC games and digital entertainment.
If purchased via STEAM, pre-loading will be available 48 hours in advance of the release date. For more information about STEAM please visit www.steampowered.com.
The minimum system specifications for Empire: Total War are:
Operating System: Windows XP 32(service pack 2), Windows Vista 32 OS.
Processor: 2.4 GHz Single Core Intel or AMD equivalent processor.
System Memory: 1GB RAM (XP) 2GB RAM (Vista).
Graphics Card: 256MB DirectX 9.0c compatible video card (shader 2.0 or higher).
Sound Card: Directx9.0c compatible sound card.
Windows compatible mouse & keyboard.
15 GB free uncompressed hard drive space.

To celebrate the Gone Gold announcement Steam released five new gameplay videos covering various aspects of the game and showcasing the new Total War engine. The videos briefly display the Naval Warfare, Land Warfare, Campaign Map, the Road to Independence, and Multiplayer.
